SMM Delivers Turnkey Training Center
The U.S. Department of State needed a temporary modular classroom for its new training center located in Fort Pickett, VA. SMM scoped for the design, fabrication, delivery, installation, finish out and utility connections of six single-story 32’ x 60’ modular classroom buildings and one 60’ x 120’ modular office building with the intention to provide the customer with a turnkey solution.
SMM constructed and installed a modular building complex comprised of six modular classroom buildings, each built of two 16’ x 60’ modular units. The complex also included a large office building comprised of ten 12’ x 60’ modular units. In order to compensate for a steep grade drop-off, SMM gave special consideration to the design of the complex’s foundation. The installation of all units were accomplished on schedule. SMM’s scope of work included the manufacturing, delivery, foundations, building installation, and associated site work for all of the buildings in the complex.
