Modular Child Development Center Serves 200+ Children

Family Morale Welfare Recreation Command (FMWRC) needed additional child care facilities due to an increasing military population on the Fort Stewart base. The child development center needed to serve over 200 children, ages 0-5.

SMM provided a new 22,000-square-foot child development center designed and constructed with a slab of on grade foundation and tilt-up cement wall panels, metal roof trusses, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, a playground and parking lots. The center was complete with classrooms, a kitchen, administrative offices, a computer lab, homework areas, play areas, and a nurse’s office. The building exterior was designed with a brick and stone facade. With safety and aesthetics in mind, SMM carefully designed the landscaping and outdoor play area. All work met with Corp of Engineers specifications.
